History of the ABC sale
The ABC Sale is Immanuel Lutheran School's oldest fundraiser. It was started in 1998 by Randy and Karla Schmidtke with the help of George and Bev Johnson and was first held in downtown Walker. It is currently held on the property of Immanuel Lutheran Church and School. Every year the community donates their unwanted clothing, toys, and other household items, essentially cleaning out their Attics, Basements and Closets. Volunteers from the church and school sort, display and price the donations for the sale. Proceeds go directly to the school and are used for scholarships, school supplies, and general funding.
This fundraiser is well-established in the community and allows people from Walker and the surrounding towns to clean out their houses, and to find things they may need or want at reasonable prices, all while supporting the school and the children that attend.
